TelePlant Doctor terms of use
TelePlant Doctor is free. Its advice helps you decide, but it can be wrong and does not replace an agriculture expert. Before you spray, ask your agrovet or agriculture office and follow the label.
These terms apply when you use the TelePlant Doctor app and this website, provided by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Nepal with the Government of Nepal ("we"). By signing in you accept them. How we handle your information is explained in the privacy policy.
1. Your account
- Sign in with a mobile number or email address that is yours. Do not share sign-in codes with anyone.
- One account is for one person. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete my account.
- We may block an account that is used to misuse the service.
2. The advice is guidance
- Diagnoses come from a computer model that compares your photo with known examples. It can be wrong, especially with unclear photos or diseases it does not know. When it is not sure, it says so.
- Treatment advice is general. Some of it has not yet been checked by a plant expert; the app shows this.
- Use pesticides only as the label says, wear protection, and follow the rules in Nepal. Ask your agrovet or agriculture office before you spray.
- You decide how to manage your crop. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for crop loss or other harm from acting on the app's advice.
3. Using the service fairly
- Use the app for checking crops. Do not send photos of people or anything unrelated to crops.
- Do not try to break, overload or copy the service, or use it through automated tools.
4. Photos you share
When you choose Share crop photos and agree on the consent screen, you confirm the photos are yours to share and allow FAO and its partners to use them, free of charge, to improve the app and for research on crop diseases. They are not linked to your account and cannot be deleted later. Photos sent for a check are used as described in the privacy policy.
5. Agrovets, weather and other information
Agrovet listings come from public sources and partners; a listing is not an endorsement, and details may be out of date. Weather comes from Open-Meteo and Nepal's Department of Hydrology and Meteorology and may not be exact.
6. Changes and availability
We may change, pause or end the service or parts of it. We will publish changed terms here with a new date; if you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply.
7. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal. Nothing in them is a waiver of the privileges and immunities of FAO.
8. Contact
